Yesterday (20th March) marked 20 years since I started my first corporate job. There were no celebrations or big milestones planned, just a quiet moment in Sedona, AZ, reflecting on the mountains around me. For the first time in a long while, I paused amidst deadlines, responsibilities, and the pursuit of the next goal to reflect on my journey.
20 years have passed, from figuring out my first role to leading teams and making impactful decisions. I've learned, often the hard way, what truly matters. I am grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey — mentors, managers, colleagues, teams, and even the challenging moments that have shaped me.
As I sat there in mountains, a different thought emerged: What do the next 20 years look like? This contemplation extends beyond my career to encompass the impact I can make. Over these two decades, I've gained valuable insights, and it may be time to use that knowledge more intentionally:
- Giving back to the professional community
- Supporting individuals navigating uncertainty in today’s AI-driven world
- Contributing to underprivileged communities
- Advocating for animal welfare
- Exploring ambitions I’ve postponed for “someday”
This isn't a grand announcement, but rather a personal note reflecting a shift in direction. I plan to start small by being more available to mentor, sharing openly, and helping where I can.
If our paths have crossed in these 20 years, thank you. If they cross in the next 20, I hope to be of assistance. The journey continues, now with a little more intention.
